Proposed Work Program of UNESCO Clubs for School Year 2025/26
Since the founding of the UNESCO CLUB BELGRADE in 2003, which simultaneously performs the function of the Federation of UNESCO CLUBS of Serbia, we have been proposing a work program for the upcoming school year every year in order to coordinate the activities of all clubs.
This school year, we pay special attention to the way of communication in the family, school and outside school.
We witness that in our society in recent years, aggressive and inappropriate behavior has been particularly present in all environments and at all places. We propose that members of UNESCO Clubs hold lectures on the topic of tolerance in mutual treatment and respect for others, and organize discussions on this topic. The question arises of what all can be aggressive behavior. Surveys can be organized to hear the opinions of young people on this topic and give recommendations for their elimination. The importance of tolerance and kindness in mutual treatment is of essential importance. Traditional rules of civil society of mutual treatment and good behavior must be revived. It was once known how to behave in certain circumstances and it is known today. We just need to remind ourselves and return to beautiful and kind communication while respecting others.
The following activities could also be included in our program:
- Continue organizing already traditional study trips in accordance with the program of getting to know the World Heritage under UNESCO protection, at the proposal of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Centre and UNESCO Club Belgrade.
- Improve cooperation between UNESCO clubs through video conferences where opinions on possible club activities and ways of joint implementation could be exchanged. Topics could be from the field of culture and intercultural dialogue, promoting freedom of speech, from the harmonious relationship between people and nature in order to protect planet Earth, as well as others from the content of UNESCO's work.
- Nurturing the mother tongue and Cyrillic script as well as beautiful handwriting, which has been quite neglected in our schools.
- Organizing actions to maintain the environment in school and outside school.
- Marking important UNESCO dates through various content as before.
- Marking important dates from our history as well as prominent figures from the fields of science and culture, so they are not forgotten.
- Contributing to the UNESCO clubs of Serbia website through sending emails to the email address of the newly elected spokesperson of UNESCO clubs of Serbia, Prof. Jelena Srdanović.
- Regarding the organization of summer camps, there is a possibility to choose content from the fields of education, culture and sports.
- Nurturing intangible cultural heritage of one's region and presenting it within the school and through the internet.
We have tried to present some of the possible activities for UNESCO clubs, which does not mean that each club does not have the opportunity to enrich its work program with other activities from the UNESCO program area.
We remind you, as every year, that it is necessary to include this work program of UNESCO Clubs of Serbia in the Annual School Work Plan, under the section of international cooperation, in order to ensure its unhindered implementation.
We wish you much success in working together with us. We are ready for any cooperation and support in work. We thank everyone and all our associates.
